Compassion (2009) 60"x39"
(printed dimensions variable)
This artwork, based on the Thousand-Arm Buddha of Compassion, recalls how the Buddha aspired to free mankind from suffering. He failed, and his body broke into a thousand pieces, regenerating into a thousand arms. Although the painting reflects Buddhist iconography, it has universal resonance. Lifes suffering can be reduced when one emulates a compassionate God by extending ones arm to help another and uniting for the common good. click for detail images
